Softball Roundup: Clear Creek Amana Sweeps Independence

Clear Creek Amana got back on track in a big way with a sweep of Independence in a WAMAC West Division doubleheader on Wednesday in Oxford.
Class 4A No. 14 Clear Creek Amana snapped a three-game losing skid with a 5-1 win in the opener and completed the sweep with a 14-0 win in three innings in the nightcap.
Clear Creek Amana improved to 12-8 with the sweep while Independence dropped to 8-13.
Raina Henze allowed one run on five hits and struck out three to pick up the win in the opener.
Gabrielle Bedford went 3-for-3 to lead Clear Creek Amana while Cheyanne Bunch and Ellie Crow each had two hits and drove in a run in game one.
Bailey Olerich had a hit and scored twice, Avery Alan had a hit, scored a run and drove in a run and Reese Stockman had a double and scored.
Bliss Beck earned the win in game two holding the Mustangs to three hits while striking out three.
Ainsley Schrock homered twice, including a grand slam, and drove in six runs to pace Clear Creek Amana in game two.
Gabrielle Bedford had two hits, scored twice and drove in a run and Bunch had a hit and scored twice.
Alan had a hit and scored a run and Stockman and Allie Rummelhart each drove in runs.
