Benton Community jumped to early lead in both games on its way to a sweep of Class 3A No. 13 Solon in a WAMAC Conference doubleheader on Monday in Solon.

The Bobcats used a nine-run second inning to win the opener 15-11 and completed the sweep with a 7-6 win in the nightcap to improve to 11-8 on the season.

Solon dropped to 15-10 on the season and has now lost four straight with three of those losses coming by one run.

Gabby McKee homered twice and drove in six runs to lead an 18-hit Benton Community outburst in the opener.

McKee had a three-run homer and Jessa DeMoss a grand slam as part of the nine-run Bobcat second.

Hilary Wilson and Jadyn Jeter each went 4-for-5 for Solon in game one.

Jeter double twice, homered and drove in five runs while Wilson doubled, homered and scored four times.

Ava Stebral had a hit and drove in two runs and Camryn Keith went 2-for-3 and scored a run.

McKee snapped a 4-4 tie in the nightcap with a three-run home run in the fifth inning and drove in five runs in the nightcap as the Bobcats completed the sweep.

Peyton Sands went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI while Carly Ellison went 2-for-3 and Sarah Heick and Jeter each had a hit and drove in a run for Solon.

Monet Barnhouse had a hit and scored a run in game two.
