Softball Roundup: Fourth-ranked Northeast Too Much for Regina

Class 2A fourth-ranked Northeast used a five-run second inning to down Regina 8-5 on Thursday in a River Valley Conference cross-divisional matchup in Goose Lake.
Northeast improved to 10-2 on the season and 7-1 in RVC play with the win while Regina dropped to 6-9 on the year and 6-3 in conference play.
Regina led early when Annie Gahan hammered a leadoff home run and the Regals led again at 3-1 when Alli Clark smacked a two-run double in the top of the second inning.
Northeast took control with a five-run second inning and added single runs in the third and fourth.
Annie Gahan led Regina going 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBI.
Emma Sueppel, Elly Gahan and Clark all had two hits. Sueppel drove in a run and Clark drove in two while Elly Gahan, Baylee O’Connor and Clark all scored runs.
