Solon stretched its winning streak to five with a sweep of Benton Community on Thursday in a WAMAC Conference cross-divisional doubleheader in Solon.

The Spartans won the opener 11-5 and took the nightcap 9-3 to improve to 10-4 on the season.

Benton Community dropped to 5-9 on the season.

Senior Nolan Pattison led four Spartans with multi-hit games in the opener going 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Brett White was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI and Carson Shive was 2-for-4 and drove in three runs.

Cole Arduser had two hits, scored three runs and drove in a run while Blake Timmons scored twice and Jackson Ryan doubled and scored three runs.

Kinnick Pusteoska had a double and drove in a run for Solon.

Jacob Smith earned the win allowing five runs on nine hits while striking out three in a complete game.

Senior Sully Steen tossed six shutout innings to earn the win in the nightcap, allowing four hits and striking out two in the victory.

Cael O’Neill went 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored to lead a 10-hit Solon attack in game two while Pusteoska doubled, homered and drove in three runs.

Timmons went 2-for-3 and scored two runs and Shive was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Arduser had a hit and drove in a run and Pattison walked three times, scored a run and drove in a run.
