Softball Roundup: Clear Creek Amana Sweeps Center Point-Urbana
Class 4A No. 15 Clear Creek Amana swept Center Point-Urbana in a WAMAC West Division doubleheader on Monday in Oxford.
Clear Creek Amana won the opener 7-6 and took the nightcap 13-3 in six innings to improve to 8-4 on the season.
Center Point-Urbana dropped to 3-10 with the losses.
Raina Henze earned the win in the opener allowing six runs, one earned, on eight hits while striking out two.
Bailey Olerich went 4-for-4 and scored two runs to pace the Clippers while Reese Stockman, Greta Downes and Avery Allan all had hits and drove in runs.
Clear Creek Amana hammered 13 hits on its way to a six-inning win in the nightcap.
Ainsley Schrock went 3-for-3 with a home run and six RBI to lead the Clipper attack while Gabrielle Bedford went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Cheyanne Bunch had two hits and scored two runs and Katelyn LeFleur was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
Ashley Webb earned the win allowing three unearned runs on three hits while striking out one in five innings.

City High Hammers Eight Homers in Sweep of Dubuque Senior
Class 5A fourth-ranked City High stretched its winning streak to seven with a doubleheader sweep of Dubuque Senior on Monday in Iowa City.
City High won the opener 11-0 in five innings and took the nightcap 11-2 to improve to 12-2 on the season while Dubuque Senior dropped to 2-7.
Four different Little Hawks combined for eight home runs in the doubleheader led by Ayana Lindsey who homered twice in the opener and three times in the doubleheader.
Ella Cook and Brooke Bormann homered in each game while Carey Koenig homered in game two.
Liberty High Stretches Win Streak to Four With Sweep of Dubuque Wahlert
Liberty High ran its winning streak to four straight with a sweep of Dubuque Wahlert in a Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Division doubleheader in North Liberty.
The Lightning won the opener 4-1 and took the nightcap 8-0 while improving to 8-6 on the season.
Dubuque Wahlert dropped to 5-6 on the season with the losses.
Kara Maiers earned the win in the opener allowing just one unearned run on two hits while striking out nine and walking three.
Tiffany Jones had two hits and drove in a run while Brylee Klosterman had a triple and drove in three runs to lead the Lightning.
Ella McLaughlin had a hit and scored a run for Liberty High.
Kinsley Robertson tossed a two-hit shutout with five strikeouts in the nightcap as Liberty High completed the sweep.
Klosterman went 3-for-3 with a triple, a home run and three RBI to lead Liberty High.
Mischa Reiners had two hits and scored two runs while Raquel Trolliet and Ashlyn Geasland each had two hits, a run scored and an RBI.

Sprague Helps Solon Split With Marion
Senior Madison Sprague spun a one-hit shutout in the nightcap to help Class 3A No. 14 Solon earn a split with Marion in a WAMAC East Division doubleheader on Monday in Marion.
Marion won the opener 10-3 and Solon took the nightcap 12-0 behind the gem from Sprague as Solon snapped a three-game losing skid with the game two win and improved to 12-6 on the season.
Marion dropped to 7-7 with the loss in the nightcap.
Jadyn Jeter went 3-for-3 with a run scored to account for half of Solon’s hit total in game one.
Hilary Wilson added a hit and an RBI while Monet Barnhouse had a hit and scored a run and Jada Buffington had a hit.
Sprague allowed just one hit, didn’t allow a walk and struck out three while picking up the win in the nightcap.
Ava Stebral and Wilson each homered as Solon hammered 12 hits in game two.
Barnhouse went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBI while Wilson scored three runs and drove in a run.
Jeter went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI and Stebral drove in three runs and scored twice.
