Regina Strikes Early in Win Over West Branch

In an effort to avoid forecasted thunderstorms Regina moved up the start time of Friday’s conference contest with West Branch three hours to 4 p.m.
Even with the early start the Regals were ready to play from the first pitch.
Regina scored four runs in the first inning on its way to a 10-4 win over West Branch in a River Valley Conference South Division contest in Iowa City.
The Regals improved to 5-4 on the season and 5-2 in RVC play while West Branch dropped to 3-3 and 3-2 in conference contests.
Emma Nibaur had a big game for the Regals picking up in the win in the circle and going 2-for-3 with a run and two RBI.
Nibaur allowed four runs on five hits while striking out five in a complete game victory.
Emma Sueppel went 3-for-4 with two RBI and scored a run and Kate Milder went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Jaelynn Ernst and Elly Gahan each had a hit, scored a run and drove in a run while Annie Gahan scored twice and drove in a run.
Nicki Henson went 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI to lead West Branch while Mackenzie Heise smacked a solo home run to lead off the second inning.
Lexie Peak and Sasha Koenig each had a double and Maddy Hatfield drove in a run for West Branch.
