Softball Roundup: Regina Rolls Past Tipton in RVC South Division Matchup

After being swept in a doubleheader by Class 4A Cedar Rapids Xavier on Saturday Regina wasted little time getting back on track with a 14-2 win over Tipton in a River Valley Conference South Division contest on Monday in Tipton.
Regina hammered 18 hits in the six-inning win while improving to 3-3 on the season and 3-1 in RVC play.
Tipton dropped to 3-3 and 2-2 in conference play with the loss.
Nine Regals had hits on Monday led by Annie Gahan and Jaelynn Ernst who had three hits each in the win.
Gahan went 3-for-5 and drove in two runs while Ernst was 3-for-4 with two RBI to pace the Regals.
Five Regals had two hits led by Courtney Kessler who tripled, homered and drove in four runs.
Emma Nibaur had two hits and scored twice, Kate Milder had two hits, scored three runs and drove in a run and Baylee O’Connor had two hits and drove in two runs.
Elly Gahan also had two hits, scored a run and drove in a run.
Ernst earned the win in the circle allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out three in a six-inning complete game.
