Regina won its second consecutive game on Friday defeating Bellevue 10-2 in a River Valley Conference cross-divisional matchup in Bellevue.

Five different Regals had two hits as Regina pounded out 14 hits while improving to 2-1 on the season and in RVC play.

Bellevue dropped to 0-4 with the loss.

Jaelynn Ernst picked up the win for the Regals allowing two runs, one earned, on seven hits while striking out eight in a complete game.

Ernst also went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs joining Emma Nibaur, Elly Gahan, Emma Sueppel and Kate Milder with two hits.

Nibaur doubled and scored two runs while Gahan and Baylee O’Connor each scored twice in the win.

Solon Extends Win Streak With Sweep of Maquoketa

Solon stretched its winning streak to four with a doubleheader sweep of Maquoketa on Friday in Solon.

The Spartans won the opener 15-3 in four innings and completed the sweep with a 10-0 six-inning win in game two.

Solon improved to 4-2 on the season with its fourth consecutive win while Maquoketa dropped to 1-7.

Kayla West earned the win in the opener allowing three runs, one earned on six hits while striking out four in four innings and also went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Sarah Heick was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI in the opener and Hilary Wilson doubled, scored twice and drove in two runs.

Carly Ellison picked up the win in game two striking out three and allowing two hits in four shutout innings.

Ava Stebral led the Solon attack going 2-for-2 with two doubles and four RBI while Monet Barnhouse was 2-for-3 with a double and scored two runs.

West had a hit and scored two runs and Wilson and Heick each had a hit and drove in a run.
