Baseball Roundup: Liberty High Defeats Cedar Rapids Washington in Home Debut

Liberty High downed Cedar Rapids Washington in the first home game in program history on Thursday in North Liberty.
The Lightning built an 8-1 lead and answered a seven-run Warrior sixth inning that tied the score with three runs on the bottom of the inning while improving to 2-0 on the season.
Ethan O’Donnell worked two scoreless innings and Jonah Warren allowed one run in three innings before Sam Funke earned the win with 1 2/3 strong innings of relief.
Nolan Frey went 4-for-4 with a triple and three runs scored to lead Liberty High while Alec Boldt doubled and drove in three runs and Funke had two hits and drove in two runs.
