Softball Roundup: Clear Creek Amana Splits With Class 3A Fifth-ranked Mount Vernon

Clear Creek Amana split a WAMAC cross-divisional doubleheader with Class 3A fifth-ranked Mount Vernon (3-1) on Wednesday in Mount Vernon winning the opener 5-2 in eight innings and dropping the nightcap 10-5.
Allie Rummelhart went 2-for-2 and plated the go-ahead run with an RBI single in the eighth inning as the Clippers snapped a 2-2 tie with three runs in the eighth.
Ainsley Schrock homered in the opener while Avery Allan had a hit and drove in a run and Greta Downes drove in a run.
Raina Henze earned the win allowing two runs, one earned, on seven hits while striking out four and walking three in the complete-game win.
Allan and Gabrielle Bedford each had two hits in the nightcap while Reese Stockman doubled and drove in two runs and Schrock had a hit and an RBI.
Clear Creek Amana moved to 3-1 on the season with the doubleheader split.
