Baseball Roundup: Solon Wins Home Opener Over Fairfield

Solon had a happy home opener on Wednesday scoring the first five runs in a 9-3 non-conference win over Fairfield in Solon.
Junior Brayden Rickertsen worked 4 1/3 strong innings to earn the win as Class 3A ninth-ranked Solon improved to 2-1 on the season. Fairfield dropped to 0-2 with the loss.
Rickertsen allowed two runs, one earned, on four hits in 4 1/3 innings while striking out four and walking three.
Senior Sully Steen worked 2 2/3 innings of one-hit relief, allowing just an unearned run.
Cole Arduser went 2-for-4 with two runs scored while Nolan Pattison had a hit and drove in two runs and Kinnick Pusteoska doubled and drove in a run.
