Parents: Tom and Sue Crimmins
Siblings: Andrew and Luke Crimmins and soon to be sister-in-law Holly Berling
Pet: A dog named Pepper
Sports/Activities: I play golf and I am also involved in sparkles cheer club, as well as PALs.
How did you get involved in sports?: I started playing sports at a young age. I played volleyball from 3rd grade to 10th grade, until I had bilateral foot surgeries, which ended my volleyball career. I started golf sophomore year because I needed to walk more after my surgeries, and I fell in love!
Favorite moment from athletics: My favorite moment from my athletic career has to be our district meet last year at Pleasant Valley golf course. On the 13th hole, I hit my 9 iron and made it into the hole for a hole-in-one!
A person that has influenced you: My grandmother is my greatest influence because she is such a strong, independent, kind, smart woman. She inspires me with her strength and resilience. She lived through the Great Depression, multiple wars, and she had 6 kids! She’s an amazing woman and I can only hope to follow in her footsteps.
Hobbies: I love to golf with my friend Neely, I volunteer at the hospital, I love to do crafts such as making blankets, and I like to read as well.
Favorite class: My favorite class ever is PALs. PALs stands for Peer Assistance Leadership, and we meet 3rd period every day. This class is awesome because three times a week during this time, I get to go to elementary schools and the junior high and meet with a student. These students and I have been making a connection all year long, and it’s so awesome to see the progress that they have made throughout the year. Being a Pal has to be one of the most rewarding things I have done at Liberty, because I’ve learned so much about myself from these students.
Favorite food: My favorite food is corn on the cob!
Favorite book: Right now I am reading Educated by Tera Westover, and it’s very interesting and eye opening.
Favorite movie: My favorite movies are definitely the High School Musical series.
How are you spending time with school closed?: I have been sewing masks a lot for my family, neighbors, friends, and healthcare workers in need. I’ve watched lots of shows, movies, and golf reruns!
Future plans: I plan to attend the University of Iowa and study Health and Human physiology with hopes of becoming a physician. I also may minor in Spanish.
