Senior Spotlight
Nick Gerard, Clear Creek Amana
Parents: Glen and Lisa Gerard
Siblings: Beau Gerard
Sports/Activities: I play football, baseball and run track.
How did you get involved in sports?: When I was little I saw my cousins play sports so that made me want to play sports as I got older.
Favorite moment from athletics: Either breaking my school’s long jump record at our home meet or jumping at the state meet.
A person that has influenced you: That’s tough because I’ve been influenced by very many people throughout my life. I would say however the person that influenced my life the most is my coach Heather Woody. She’s been my track coach and a second mom to me for 10 years now.
Hobbies: Playing video games, going on dates, watching movies, anything outdoors and fixing up my house
Favorite class: Kirkwood speech, Spanish (even though I don’t know what they’re saying), and entrepreneurship with the man Mike McCue.
Favorite food: Bubble pizza. It’s like pizza but the dough is made from cut pieces of biscuits.
Favorite book: Relentless by Tim S. Grover.
Favorite movie: Remember the Titans
How are you spending time with school closed?: Eating, training, working on the house, reading and playing video games.
Future plans: I plan to expand my knowledge in business and run track at the D1 level. Eventually, I would like to coach track at the college or professional level.
