One of the most productive players in the area over the past three seasons has made a decision on his future hoops home.
Liberty High senior forward Andre Brandon announced his commitment to Sauk Valley Community College with a post on social media on Wednesday.
“I’m excited to announce that I am continuing my education and basketball career at Sauk Valley CC,” Brandon wrote on Twitter. “I would like to thank everyone who has helped me get here.”
Brandon led Liberty High in scoring and rebounding each of the past three seasons averaging 13.7 points and 6.9 rebounds in three varsity seasons.
The 6-foot-6 Brandon earned Mississippi Valley Conference all-division honors each of the past two seasons.
Brandon averaged 12.5 points and 6.8 rebounds as a senior shooting 48 percent from the field and 66 percent from the free throw line while helping Liberty High to a program-best 10 wins.
As a senior Brandon ranked fourth on the team with 1.9 assists and led the Lightning with 18 blocked shots.
Sauk Valley Community College is located in Dixon, Illinois and is coming off a 21-11 season last spring.
