Boys Basketball Roundup: Clear Creek Amana Secures First Conference Title Since 2001 With Win at Benton Community

The most important games are yet to come for the Clear Creek Amana boys basketball team.
Those games start next Monday when the Clippers open the postseason hosting Fort Madison in a substate quarterfinal.
First the Clippers had to put the finishing touches on the most successful regular season in recent program history.
Clear Creek Amana clinched a share of the WAMAC West Division title on Tuesday with a 74-58 win over Benton Community in Van Horne.
With the win the Clippers closed the regular season 16-5 and 14-5 in WAMAC play securing its first ever WAMAC championship and first conference championship of any kind since 2001.
The 14-5 conference record included a 12-2 mark against WAMAC West Division opponents, the best in program history.
Senior Tyler Schrepfer hit four 3-pointers on his way to a team-high 17 points while Mike Potter had 14 points, eight rebounds and three blocks for the Clippers.
Christian Withrow had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Benton Community dropped to 7-13 and 6-12 in WAMAC play with the loss.
