Wrestling Roundup: Flynn, Taylor Reach Milestones as Solon Falls to Camanche in Regional Semifinal

Solon fell to Camanche 48-35 on Tuesday in the semifinals of a Class 2A regional dual in Manchester.
Top-ranked West Delaware defeated Anamosa 76-3 in the other semifinal and downed Camanche 54-24 in the title match to advance to the Class 2A state dual meet.
Solon got pins from Hayden Taylor, Jax Flynn, Seamus Poynton and Gage Marty but it wasn’t enough.
Zeb Gnida added a tech fall victory for Solon at 152 pounds and Erich Karsten won by forfeit at 285 for the Spartans.
The first period pin for Taylor was the 100th win of his career while Flynn needed just 21 seconds to pin Gavin Sharp to reach 150 wins for his career.
