Girls Basketball Roundup: Stuelke, CR Washington Hold Off West High

Cedar Rapids Washington jumped to a 28-13 halftime lead and held on for a 62-51 win over West High on Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference cross-divisional matchup in Iowa City.
West High dropped to 10-9 with its second consecutive loss while Cedar Rapids Washington improved to 10-10.
Audrey Koch poured in a team-high 25 points and grabbed three rebounds to lead West High while Matayia Tellis added 11 points, three rebounds and two assists.
Cora Saunders added seven points for the Women of Troy.
Sophomore Hannah Stuelke had a double-double with 27 points and 10 rebounds to lead Cedar Rapids Washington while Marek McBride added 12 points and five rebounds.
Sydney Engledow had seven points, 10 rebounds and three assists for the Warriors.

Solon Can't Rally From Early Deficit in Loss at Maquoketa
A 15-point first-quarter deficit proved to be too deep a hole for Solon to climb out of in a 69-56 loss to Maquoketa on Tuesday in a WAMAC East Division matchup in Maquoketa.
Maquoketa bolted to a 23-8 lead after the opening quarter and held off Solon to improve to 16-5 on the season.
Solon outscored the Cardinals by two points over the final three quarters but couldn’t cut any deeper into the early deficit while finishing the regular season 9-12.
Elly Holubar led Solon with 16 points while Kaia Holtkamp had 15 points and Makinley Levin added nine.
Nell Sybesma had 27 points, 13 rebounds and four assists to lead Maquoketa while Autumn Dykstra added 21 points.
