Cedar Falls raced to a 23-2 first quarter lead and rolled to a 78-54 win over West High in a Mississippi Valley Conference cross-divisional matchup in Cedar Falls on Saturday.

Class 5A seventh-ranked Cedar Falls had four players score in double figures and improved to 15-4 on the season with its seventh consecutive win.

West High dropped to 10-8 with the loss.

Audrey Koch led West High with 21 points while Jenna Saunders added 10 and Matayia Tellis had nine.

Anaya Barney led four Tigers in double figures with a game-high 24 points while Emerson Green and Anna Sandvold each had 18 for Cedar Falls.

Sydney Remmert added 10 for the Tigers.

Regina Falls to 3A No. 12 Monticello

The second ranked opponent in 24 hours proved to be too much for Regina on Saturday.

A day after earning an upset of Class 3A No. 11 West Liberty on Friday Regina fell 3A No. 12 Monticello 44-30 on Saturday in a River Valley Conference cross-divisional matchup in Iowa City.

Regina dropped to 14-6 on the season and 13-5 in RVC play with the loss while Monticello improved to 15-5 and 15-3 in RVC play.

Annie Gahan had 12 points and six rebounds to lead Regina while Sam Greving added nine points and 11 boards.

Claire Gaarde had three points, eight rebounds and three assists for the Regals.

Regina will close the regular season on Tuesday at home against sixth-ranked West Branch.
