Clear Creek Amana stretched its winning streak to a season-best six games with a 68-40 win over Maquoketa on Friday in a WAMAC Conference cross-divisional matchup in Maquoketa.

Nick O’Connor had a game-high 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds as Clear Creek Amana improved to 14-4 on the season and 13-4 in WAMAC play.

Maquoketa dropped to 3-14 and 2-14 in conference games.

Christian Withrow scored 13 points while Brock Reade added 11 points.

Cedar Rapids Jefferson Holds Off Liberty High

Cedar Rapids Jefferson built a 12-point halftime lead and held on for a 64-63 win over Liberty High in a Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Division matchup on Friday in Cedar Rapids.

Ozzie Meiborg had a game-high 28 points and Andreas Williams had 11 to lead Cedar Rapids Jefferson which improved to 6-10 on the season with the win.

Kelby Telander poured in 23 points and Ira Hazeltine had 12 for Liberty High as the Lightning dropped to 8-8 on the season.

Ethan O’Donnell had nine points, Andre Brandon added eight and Grayson Tyler seven for Liberty High.
