Girls Basketball Roundup: Top-ranked City High Earns Third Straight Victory Over Top-10 Team

What a week for top-ranked City High.
Class 5A top-ranked City High earned its third win over a top-10 team in a span of five days on Saturday with an 83-74 win over eighth-ranked Waterloo West in a Mississippi Valley Conference makeup game in Waterloo.
City High improved to 12-0 on the season with the win while Waterloo West dropped to 11-3.
The Little Hawks started their five-day stretch with a come-from-behind win at 5A No. 7 Cedar
Falls on Tuesday.
City High rallied for a 65-64 win over 4A eighth-ranked Cedar Rapids Xavier on Friday before capping the week with a win in Waterloo.
Sophomore Eviyon Richardson poured in a game-high 26 points while Aubrey Joens added 15 points.
Kelsey Joens and Paige Rocca each had 13 points for City High while Rose Nkumu added 11.

West Branch Wins Ninth Straight
Class 2A six-ranked West Branch stretched its winning streak to nine with a 64-14 win over North Cedar on Saturday in a River Valley Conference cross-divisional contest in Stanwood.
Rylan Druecker had a game-high 14 points and four steals as West Branch improved to 13-2 on the season and 12-1 in RVC play.
North Cedar dropped to 0-14.
Kaiya Luneckas had 11 points, six rebounds and three steals and Taya Young added nine points, five steals and three rebounds.
Lexie Peak had eight points and two steals and Sasha Koenig had five points, five rebounds, eight assists and nine steals.
West High Ends Busy Week With Loss at No. 13 West Des Moines Valley
West High closed a busy week that featured four road games in six days with a 65-32 loss to Class 5A No. 13 West Des Moines Valley on Saturday in a non-conference contest in West Des Moines.
West Des Moines Valley outscored West High 44-16 in the second half to break open a seven-point game while improving to 8-7 on the season.
West High dropped to 7-6 with the loss, its second to a ranked team in the four-game week.
Audrey Koch had a game-high 21 points to lead West High and Grace Schneider added six for the Women of Troy.
Meredith Rieker led a trio of Tigers in double figures with 17 points while Grace Plummer added 12 and Alex Honnold had 11.
