Cedar Rapids Xavier outscored Liberty High 9-6 in the fourth quarter to escape with a 46-43 win over the Lightning in a Mississippi Valley Conference makeup game on Saturday in North Liberty.

Jake Beckmann had 12 points to lead Cedar Rapids Xavier as the Saints improved to 5-6 on the season with their third consecutive win.

Liberty High dropped to 6-5 with its second loss in less than 24 hours after falling to third-ranked West High on Friday night.

Kelby Telander had a game-high 16 points to lead Liberty High while Andre Brandon added eight points and Basil Aldoss chipped in with seven points.
