Girls Basketball Roundup: West Branch Stretches Win Streak to Eight With Win at Mid-Prairie

West Branch pushed its winning streak to eight with a 72-27 win over Mid-Prairie on Monday in a River Valley Conference South Division matchup in Wellman.
Class 2A sixth-ranked West Branch improved to 12-2 on the season and 11-1 in RVC play with the win while Mid-Prairie dropped to 4-8 and 4-7 in RVC games.
West Branch outscored the Golden Hawks 39-9 after halftime while putting up a season-high point total.
Sasha Koenig led West Branch with 20 points, six steals and five assists while Taylor Thein had 18 points, seven steals and three assists.
Mackenzie Heise had eight points, five rebounds and three assists and Rylan Druecker added eight points and three assists.
Kaiya Luneckas had seven rebounds and Taya Young had five assists for the Bears.
Maddie Nonnenmann led Mid-Prairie with 10 points and three rebounds.
