A winter storm predicted to bring snow, ice and wind to the area changed the schedule for the West Branch girls basketball team but did little to slow the red-hot Bears.
West Branch stretched its winning streak to seven with a 51-28 win at Durant on Thursday in a River Valley Conference South Division matchup in Durant moved up 24 hours due to an impending winter storm.
Sasha Koenig had 17 points, four assists and two steals to lead West Branch as the Bears improved to 11-2 on the season and 10-1 in RVC play.
Durant dropped to 3-10 on the season and 3-8 in RVC play with the loss.
Taylor Thein had nine points, six steals, four rebounds and two assists and Delaynie Luneckas added six points, six rebounds and two steals for West Branch.
Rylan Druecker had nine points and Kaiya Luneckas grabbed 11 rebounds for the Bears.
