After dropping its first game back from the holiday break West High got back on track Tuesday with a 61-51 win over Dubuque Hempstead in a Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Division matchup in Dubuque.

West High improved to 4-4 on the season with the win while Dubuque Hempstead dropped to 4-6.

Audrey Koch led three West High players in double figures with 18 points while Cora Saunders added 17 and Matayia Tellis had 11.

Meena Tate chipped in with seven and Liv Williams had six.

Kaylie Springer had a game-high 22 to lead Dubuque Hempstead.

City High Rolls Past Western Dubuque to Stay Perfect

Aubrey Joens led four players in double figures as Class 5A top-ranked City High remained unbeaten with an 81-34 win over Western Dubuque on Tuesday in Epworth.

City High improved to 8-0 on the season while Western Dubuque dropped to 3-7 with its third straight loss.

Rose Nkumu had 17 points, six assists and four steals while Paige Rocca added 17 points and Kelsey Joens had 15 for the Little Hawks.

Eviyon Richardson had eight points and seven rebounds for City High.

Solon Gets Defensive in Win Over Mount Vernon

Solon held Mount Vernon to a season-low point total on its way to a 33-17 win over the Mustangs in a WAMAC West Division matchup on Tuesday in Solon.

The Spartans improved to 4-6 on the season and 2-2 in WAMAC West Division play while Mount Vernon dropped to 3-6 and 0-3 in WAMAC contests.

Kaia Holtkamp had a game-high 17 points to lead Solon while Jenna LaDage added seven points and Makinley Levin had five points for the Spartans.

Top-ranked Cascade Too Much for Regina

Class 2A top-ranked Cascade used a 17-1 third quarter run to pull away from Regina in a 49-19 win in a River Valley Conference cross-divisional matchup on Tuesday in Cascade.

Regina dropped to 6-2 on the season and in RVC play with the loss while Cascade improved to 10-0 and 9-0 in conference play.

Sam Greving led Regina with nine points while Grace Gaarde had five points, two assists and two rebounds.

Lily Simpson added three points and five rebounds for the Regals.
