Girls Basketball Roundup: West Branch Keeps Rolling With Rout of Camanche

In its first game of the new year West Branch picked up where it left off before break rolling to a 68-28 win over Camanche in a River Valley Conference cross-divisional matchup on Friday in West Branch.
Class 2A seventh-ranked West Branch improved to 8-2 on the season and 7-1 in RVC play with its fourth straight win.
Camanche dropped to 2-6 on the season and 2-5 in RVC play.
Rylan Druecker led West Branch with 20 points, five rebounds and three steals while Delaynie Luneckas added 13 points, five rebounds and three steals.
Sasha Koenig had 11 points, seven assists and seven steals for the Bears and Taylor Thein and Taya Young each added seven points.
Clippers Roll Past Williamsburg
Clear Creek Amana opened 2020 with a 62-36 win over Williamsburg in a WAMAC West Division matchup on Friday in Tiffin.
Karsyn Stratton poured in a game-high 27 points and added five steals as Clear Creek Amana improved to 6-3 on the season and 2-2 in WAMAC West Division play.
Williamsburg dropped to 1-7 and 1-3 with the loss.
Calia Clubb had 17 points and 13 rebounds for the Clippers while Whitney Traetow added eight points and three steals.

Class 5A No. 1 City High opened up a 62-6 halftime lead and rolled to an 89-24 win over Waterloo East on Friday in a Mississippi Valley Conference matchup in Iowa City.
City High improved to 7-0 with the win while Waterloo East dropped to 0-7.
Aubrey Joens led five City High players in double figures with a game-high 25 points and had a double-double with 10 steals.
Paige Rocca went 5-of-9 from 3-point range on her way to 17 points while Kelsey Joens had 12 points, six steals, five rebounds and four assists.
Rose Nkumu had a double-double with 10 points and 11 assists and Eviyon Richardson had 10 points and nine rebounds.
Ella Cook added six points 10 rebounds and five steals for City High.
Key’Lajaha Jefferson-Putman had nine points to lead Waterloo East.

Ninth-ranked Waterloo West Too Much for Liberty High
Class 5A ninth-ranked Waterloo West jumped to a 20-5 first-quarter lead on its way to a 64-26 win over Liberty High on Friday in a Mississippi Valley Conference matchup in North Liberty.
Liberty High dropped to 1-7 with the loss while Waterloo West improved to 8-1 with its fifth consecutive win.
Freshman Ava Meyer led Liberty High with seven points and seven rebounds while Isabel Smith had six points and five rebounds.
Sam McPherson added five points and Kenney Daugherty had three points and five rebounds.

Regina Rallies Past Bellevue
After managing 19 points in the opening three quarters Regina scored 14 points in the final eight minutes to rally from a two-point deficit for a 33-26 win over Bellevue in a River Valley Conference cross-divisional matchup on Friday in Bellevue.
Regina improved to 6-1 with the win and moved to 6-1 in RVC play while Bellevue dropped to 3-5 and 2-5 in conference games.
Sam Greving led Regina with 14 points and five rebounds while Annie Gahan added nine points, four rebounds and three steals.
Claire Gaarde had four points, seven rebounds and four steals and Lily Simpson had four points, five rebounds and three steals.
