Putting together a collection of the top players from a 10-year span is always going to be a sizeable task.
Considering the quality of girls basketball played in the Your Prep Sports area over the last 10 seasons assembling an all-decade team was especially challenging but equally enjoyable.
Over the last decade some of the best girls basketball in the state has been played right here in the Your Prep Sports area.
Four different area teams have reached the state tournament since 2010 with a team from the Your Prep Sports area competing at state each of the last nine seasons.
Those four teams have combined for 17 state appearances, reaching nine semifinals and four championship games with West High winning state titles in 2012 and 2018.
The area produced two Miss Iowa Basketball winners during the decade as well as a slew of all-state players.
Your Prep Sports continues its series of all-decade teams with a list of 15 of the top girls basketball players to compete in the area from 2010 to 2019.
