Boys Basketball Roundup: City High Gets Back on Track With Win at Dubuque Wahlert

City High didn’t wait long to get back on track following its loss to cross-town rival West High last week.
Keshawn Christian poured in a game-high 25 points to lead City High to a 68-59 win over Dubuque Wahlert in a Mississippi Valley Conference matchup on Tuesday in Dubuque.
Kolby Kucera and Byron Benton each added 11 points as City High improved to 2-2 on the season and 1-0 in MVC play.
Dubuque Wahlert dropped to 1-3 with the loss.
Jamari Newson had eight points and Raph Hamilton chipped in with six for City High.

Liberty High Remains Unbeaten
Liberty High remained undefeated with a 51-42 win over Western Dubuque on Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference matchup in North Liberty.
Andre Brandon scored a game-high 17 points and Ethan O’Donnell added 10 points as Liberty High improved to 4-0 on the season and 1-0 in MVC play.
Western Dubuque dropped to 1-3 with its third consecutive loss.
Ben Houselog and Kelby Telander each had five points and Sam Funke and Basil Aldoss each chipped in with four for the Lightning.

Clear Creek Amana Pushes Winning Streak to Four
Clear Creek Amana used a 21-point fourth quarter to race past Independence pushing its winning streak to four with a 56-45 win on Tuesday in Independence.
Mike Potter had a team-high 16 points and seven rebounds as Clear Creek Amana improved to 4-2 on the season and 1-0 in WAMAC West Division play.
Tyler Schrepfer added 13 points for Clear Creek Amana while Christian Withrow had eight points and six rebounds and Ryan Navara had seven points.
TJ Bollers had 10 rebounds in the win.

West Branch Wins Fifth Straight
West Branch moved its winning streak to five straight with its second road win in as many nights downing Wilton 60-43 in a River Valley Conference South Division tilt in Wilton on Tuesday.
The Bears improved to 6-1 with the win and 5-1 in RVC play while Wilton dropped to 1-4 on the season and 0-4 in RVC play.
Simon Palmer and Jeff Bowie each had 14 points to lead West Branch while Tanner Lukavsky had nine points and seven rebounds.
Gavin Hierseman and Matt Whaley each added eight points for the Bears.
