The 2019 Your Prep Sports Area Volleyball Team

For the fourth consecutive fall Your Prep Sports is honoring the top volleyball talent in its coverage area.
The annual Your Prep Sports volleyball team recognizes six of the top players in the area for their performance on the court this season.
This year’s squad is made up of all-state and all-conference performers from four different schools.
Liberty High senior Rylee Fay is the 2019 captain after leading the Lightning to the best season in program history and their first ever trip to the state tournament.
Rylee Fay (Captain)
5-8, Senior, Liberty High
In her first season at Liberty High Fay did a little bit of everything while helping lift the Lightning to the most successful season in program history.
Fay led Liberty High with 510 assists and her team-high 68 ace serves ranked third in Class 5A as the Lightning went 34-3 and reached the state tournament for the first time in program history.
A Missouri State recruit, Fay was fourth on the team with 112 digs and fifth with 90 kills while hitting .289.
Fay earned second-team all-state honors from the Iowa Girls Coaches Association and was named to the Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Division first team.
LeeAnn Potter
5-8, Senior, Liberty High
The cornerstone of the Liberty High program the past three seasons Potter closed a stellar career with 858 kills.
In her final prep season Potter ranked second on the team in both kills (225) and digs (213) while helping Liberty High (34-3) eclipse its win total from its first two varsity seasons combined.
Potter was an honorable mention all-state pick and second team MVC Valley Division selection after posting 31 ace serves and 23 blocks.
Potter will play beach volleyball at Saint Leo University in Florida.
Kelsey Law
5-11, Senior, City High
A four-year varsity contributor Law saved her best season for last leading Class 5A in kills per set while hammering a career-high 324 kills.
One of the most effective hitters in the state this season Law averaged 4.91 kills per set while hitting at a .325 clip.
A unanimous Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division and honorable mention all-state pick, Law ranked fifth on the team with 144 digs and had 20 ace serves helping City High to a 17-15 record and a spot in a 5A regional final.
Calia Clubb,
6-1, Sophomore, Clear Creek Amana
Clubb followed up a strong freshman season with a breakthrough sophomore campaign in which she established herself as one of the top all-around players in Class 4A.
After leading the Clippers in kills in her first varsity season a year ago Clubb posted career highs in kills, ace serves and digs this fall leading Clear Creek Amana in all three categories.
Clubb hammered 351 kills on her way to earning honorable mention all-state honors and was a unanimous first-team all-WAMAC West Division pick.
The 6-foot-1 sophomore added 48 ace serves, 285 digs and 18 blocks this season helping the Clippers to a 23-15 record.
Kaiya Luneckas
6-0, Senior, West Branch
After increasing her kill totals each of her first three seasons Luneckas enjoyed a breakthrough senior season in which she emerged as one of the top hitters in Class 2A.
Luneckas had a career-high 327 kills on a team-high .276 hitting percentage on her way to being named to the River Valley Conference Elite Team for the first time.
The 327 kills nearly matched the kill total from the previous two seasons for Luneckas (353) and ranked 19th in Class 2A and sixth in the RVC.
Luneckas ranked third on the team with 185 digs and 61 blocks while helping West Branch to a 21-16 record and a regional semifinal berth.
Cassidy Hartmann
5-10, Freshman, Liberty High
Hartmann made a major impact in her first varsity season leading Liberty High in kills and hitting percentage while helping the Lightning reach the state tournament for the first time in program history.
The freshman standout had a team-high 242 kills and a .349 hitting percentage on her way to being named to the Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Division first team and was an honorable mention all-state pick.
Hartman led Liberty High in kills in both of its regional wins and had a team-best 29 kills in three postseason matches.
