City High had its postseason run stopped one win shy of the state tournament.

Sixth-ranked West Des Moines Dowling (32-11) swept No. 14 City High 25-15, 25-17, 28-26 in the Class 5A, Region 4 title game on Monday in West Des Moines.

City High closes the season 17-15 while West Des Moines Dowling advanced to the 5A state tournament where it will face West Des Moines Valley in a quarterfinal on November 12 at 2 p.m. at the US Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids.

Kelsey Law led City High with 17 kills while Lindsey Bolton had 30 assists and four kills and Maya Morales chipped in with eight digs.
