West Branch Senior Luneckas Named to RVC Elite Team

In her final season of prep volleyball Kaiya Luneckas took her game to another level.
On Wednesday the West Branch senior was rewarded for her breakthrough season.
Luneckas was named to the River Valley Conference Elite Team for the first time on Wednesday when the conference announced its postseason awards.
The 6-foot Luneckas led West Branch in kills and hitting percentage and ranked third on the team in blocks and digs on her way to landing on the 12-memember elite team that features the top players from the North and South Divisions.
A four-year varsity starter, Luneckas posted seasons of 173 and 180 kills the past two years.
She easily bested those number this season ranking fifth among RVC South Division players with a career-high 282 kills on .278 hitting.
Luneckas added 55 blocks and 166 digs while helping the Bears to a 19-15 record.
West Branch sophomore Lexi Klinkkammer was named to the South Division squad after posting 210 kills on .237 hitting and 38 ace serves this season.
Regina had a pair of players named to the South Division squad in junior Annie Gahan and sophomore Lily Simpson.
Simpson leads the Regals with 156 kills and is second on the team with 120 digs.
Gahan ranks third on the team with 125 kills and leads Regina with 63 blocks, 166 digs and 34 ace serves.
West Branch junior Lexie Peak and Regina senior Maya Kerschen were both honorable mention selections.
