Solon had two runners in the top seven and finished runner-up at the North Linn Invitational on Saturday morning at North Linn High School in Troy Mills.

Kiersten Conway placed fifth and Emma Bock was seventh as Class 3A sixth-ranked Solon finished runner-up to Williamsburg with 90 points.

Class 2A second-ranked Williamsburg rolled to the team title with 40 points while Mount Pleasant was third with 147, 1A No. 7 Hudson was fourth with 151 and 1A fifth-ranked Regina was fifth with 153.

Conway led Solon placing fifth in a time of 19:54.7 while Bock was seventh in 20:10.1.

Kaia Holtkamp placed 22nd in 21:10.5 and Meghan O’Neill was 27th in a time of 21:28.8 for the Spartans.

Annalee Bartles led Regina placing 13th in 20:29.8 while Josie Voss was 18th in 20:50.9 and Kennedy Scott was 21:40.2.

Hinman Leads Solon at North Linn Invitational

Gabe Hinman placed sixth to lead Solon to a sixth-place team finish at the North Linn Invitational on Saturday morning in Troy Mills.

Hinman finished sixth in 17:02.3 as Solon finished with 189 points.

Tipton won the team title with 24 points followed by Marion with 65 and Mason City with with 118. Regina was 10th with 254 points.

Joe Maley led Regina placing 29th in 17:56.9 while Ethan Boileau was 38th in 18:09.3
