West High placed fourth behind a trio of top-five teams at the Southeast Polk Cross Country Invite on Thursday at Southeast Polk High School in Altoona.

Maddy Negley placed 15th as Class 4A No. 13 West High had five runners finish in the top 25 while finishing with 100 points.

Third-ranked Waukee won the team title with 51 points followed by fifth-ranked Southeast Polk with 65 points and 3A No. 3 Dallas Center-Grimes with 84 points.

Negley led West High placing 15th in a time of 20:42 while Camden Zirker was 18th in 20:53 and Annie Schwartz was 21st in 20:58.

Erica Buettner placed 22nd in 21:00.7 and Lucy Westemeyer was 24th in 21:04.8.

Camille Jackson of Ames won the individual title in a time of 18:41.6.
