Kelsey Law hammered a match-high 23 kills and added 17 digs to lead City High to a 25-15, 22-25, 25-17, 25-17 win over Waterloo East on Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division match in Waterloo.
City High improved to 11-9 on the season and 3-2 in MVC play with the win while Waterloo East dropped to 7-14 and 1-4 in conference action.
Mia Loughran added 11 kills for City High while Maya Morales had 30 digs and Lindsey Bolton had 42 assists.
Liberty High Defeats No. 14 Waterloo West
Class 5A second-ranked Liberty High stretched it winning streak to seven on Tuesday with a 25-27, 25-12, 25-10, 25-18 win over No. 14 Waterloo West in a Mississippi Valley Conference match in Waterloo.
Liberty High improved to 20-1 on the season and 4-1 in MVC play while Waterloo West dropped to 14-7 and 2-3 in Valley Division action.
Cassidy Hartman led Liberty High with 11 kills while Sydney Woods added nine kills and four ace serves for the Lightning.
Shelby Kimm had seven kills while LeAnn Potter and Kennedy Daughtery each added five kills in the win.
Rylee Fay had two kills, three ace serves and 18 assists while Hailey Hested had 13 assists.
Addie Schmierer had a team-high 12 digs while Woods and Potter each had 10 digs.
