Girls Cross Country Roundup: Solon Wins Anamosa Invitational

Solon had three runners finish in the top 10 on its way to capturing the team title at the Anamosa Cross Country Invitational on Saturday in Anamosa.
Kiersten Conway placed fourth and Emma Bock was fifth as the Spartans finished with 45 points to outdistance runner-up Monticello by 25.
Tipton was third with 113 followed by Springville-Central City with 130 and North Linn with 146.
Conway placed fourth in a time of 20:30 while Bock was right behind in 2049.
Freshman Mary Fiala was eighth in 21:04 while Meghan O’Neill was 12th in 21:47 and Ella Duster was 16th in 22:05.

Liberty High 24th at Roy Griak Invitational
Liberty High sophomore Ashlyn Keeney placed fifth out of more than 500 runners to help Liberty high to a top-25 team finish at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday in Minneapolis Minnesota.
Keeney placed fifth in a time of 18:15.4 and was less than seven seconds off the pace of runner-up Anna Fenske of Farmington.
Riley Stewart of Cherry Creek rolled to the individual title in a time of 17:29.3.
The performance by Keeney helped Liberty High finish 24th out of 50 teams with 719 points.
McKenzie Logan was 64th in 19:54.8 while Cami Mac was 185th in 21:11.6 to lead the Lightning.
Cherry Creek won the team title with 75 points in a field that features teams from throughout the Midwest.
Liberty High placed in front of Iowa competition West Des Moines Valley, Decorah and Davenport Assumption.

West High Runner-up at Rim Rock Classic
West High finished runner-up in the Crimson Division at the Rim Rock Classic on Saturday at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence Kansas.
Maddy Negley placed 15th in 20:16.7 to pace West High as the Women of Troy finished with 162 points.
Bishop Kelley won the team title with 124 while Derby was third with 223 and Stillwell Blue Valley was fourth with 250.
Erica Buettner was 26th in a time of 20:37.5 for West High while Camden Zirker was 39th in 20:56 and Lucy Westemeyer was 40th in 20:57.2.
