Clear Creek Amana had four runners finish in the top 10 on its way to winning the 43rd Cardinal Cross Country Invite at Westwood Golf Course in Newton.

Brandon Barker placed third in 17:26.9 to lead the way as Class 3A third-ranked Clear Creek Amana easily outdistanced No. 5 Dallas Center-Grimes for the team title.

Clear Creek Amana finished with 37 points, 44 in front of Dallas Center-Grimes while Southeast Polk was third with 83, No. 10 North Polk was fourth with 87 and sixth-ranked Pella was fifth with 89.

Nick O’Connor placed sixth in 17:59.3 while Gavin Zillyette was eighth in 18:08.2 for the Clippers.

Jack Sexton was right behind Zillyette finishing ninth in a time of 18:09.5 and Caleb Alcorn added an 11th place finish in 18:16.4 as the top five finishers for the Clippers were separated by less than a minute.
