Cross Country Roundup: Bartels Leads Regina at Cascade Invitational

Regina had a pair of top 10 finishers and placed third at the Cascade Invitational on Thursday in Anamosa.
Annalee Bartles placed fourth in 21:16 and Josie Voss was seventh in 21:46 as Class 1A fourth-ranked Regina finished with 77 points.
2A No. 4 Monticello won the team title with 30 points while Benton Community was second with 68.
Mya Whitaker placed 13th for Regina in 22:31 and Kennedy Scott was 25th in 23:37.
Monticello’s Emma Althoff won the individual title in 20:24.

West High Fourth at Rich Engel Classic
West High used its balance to place fourth at the 21-team Rich Engel Classic on Thursday in Cedar Falls.
Class 4A No. 15 West High had three runners in the top 30 while finishing with 146 points, four points back of Class 3A second-ranked Dubuque Wahlert who was third.
4A third-ranked Dubuque Senior won the team title with 42 points followed by fifth-ranked Dubuque Hempstead with 123.
Ashlyn Keeney won the individual title in a time of 18:47 and Cami Mac finished fourth to help No. 14 Liberty High place fifth with 153 points.
Maddy Negley led West High placing 17th in a time of 20:51 while Camden Zirker was 25th in 21:09.
Erica Buettner was 29th in 21:15 while Annie Schwartz was 37th in 21:30.
McKenzie Logan placed 19th in 20:53 for Liberty High.

Regina Boys Place Fifth at Cascade Invitational
Regina placed fifth at the Cascade Invitational in Anamosa on Thursday with 124 points.
Class 2A fifth-ranked Monticello won the team title with 16 points followed by Maquoketa Valley with 50, Benton Community with 118 and Cascade with 123.
Joe Maley placed ninth in a time of 18:12 to lead Regina while Ethan Boileau was 14th in 18:32 and Dan Maley was 16th in 18:39.
