Clear Creek Amana faced some adversity to start both halves on Friday night at Fort Madison.

Both times the Clippers found ways to overcome it.

Clear Creek Amana erased an early 7-0 deficit and overcame a turnover to open the second half on its way to a 35-13 win on Friday in Fort Madison.

Ryan Navara threw a pair of touchdown passes and also ran for a score as Clear Creek Amana improved to 2-1 with its second consecutive road win.

Clear Creek Amana churned out 194 rushing yards and 27 first downs while controlling the clock for most of the game.

Sophomore Gage Freeman rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown and Alex Figueroa added 71 yards on the ground as the Clippers held a 414 to 200 advantage in total offense.

Fort Madison took an early lead on a Diego Lozano touchdown run but the Clippers answered with a pair of second-quarter touchdown passes from Navara.

The junior hit TJ Bollers for a 41-yard strike to tie the game at 7-7 and then found Harrison Rosenberg for a 25-yard scoring pass that gave the Clippers a 14-7 halftime lead.

Fort Madison got back in the game early in the third quarter with an interception on the first place of the second half.

Five plays later Will Larson scored on a quarterback keeper that cut the lead to 14-13.

Clear Creek Amana again had the answer this time in the form of 21 unanswered points to end the game.

Navara started the 21-point surge with a 2-yard scoring run and Freeman gave the Clippers some breathing room with a 21-yard touchdown run.

Cole Pfister capped the scoring with a 14-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Nate Beckman had a team-high five tackles to lead Clear Creek Amana which held the Bloodhounds to 57 rushing yards.

Sam Noska had a sack while Jacob Curtin had a pair of tackles for loss and Zane Cunningham, Wes Quinlan and Mason Stanfield all had a tackle for loss.
