Liberty High Moves to 2-0 With Shutout at Waterloo East

Last week Liberty High won a season opener for the first time in program history with a 23-20 victory over City High.
The Lightning continued its historic start to the season on Friday.
Liberty High improved to 2-0 with a 14-0 win over Waterloo East (0-2) on Friday at Memorial Stadium in Waterloo.
The first shutout in program history gives Liberty High its first back-to-back and moved the Lightning one win from matching its year-one win total.
Drake Woody threw a touchdown pass and Kaleb Williams added a rushing touchdown as Liberty High improved to 2-0.
Woody connected with Brian Lively for a 45-yard touchdown pass to start the scoring on the opening drive of the game.
Williams capped the scoring with a 16-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Max Tafolla rushed for 114 yards and Williams added 70 on the ground for the Lightning.
Woody threw for 120 yards and a score ad also ran for 12 yards.
