Clippers Bounce Back From Week One Loss With Win at Fairfield

After a home loss to Mount Pleasant in its season opener Clear Creek Amana was in need of a bounce back performance.
The Clippers got exactly what they were looking on Friday in Fairfield.
Clear Creek Amana scored 26 unanswered points to snap an early 7-7 tie on its way to a 33-7 win over Fairfield (0-2) in a non-district matchup in Fairfield.
Ryan Navara threw for 132 yards and two touchdowns and Gage Freeman threw a touchdown pass and rushed for a score as Clear Creek Amana improved to 1-1 on the season.
After averaging 3.7 yards per play and finishing with 228 yards of total offense in a 42-20 season-opening loss to Mount Pleasant the Clippers got their offense rolling on Friday.
Clear Creek Amana rolled up 459 yards of offense, including 271 through the air while averaging 7.4 yards per play.
The Clippers reached into their bag of tricks to take an early lead.
Freeman threw an 80-yard touchdown pass to Brock Reade on a halfback pass that gave Clear Creek Amana an early 7-0 advantage and started an avalanche of Clipper offense.
Fairfield pulled even at 7-7 but the Clippers took the lead for good when Navara connected with TJ Bollers on a 50-yard scoring strike.
Freeman gave the Clippers a 20-7 halftime lead with a 7-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.
Alex Figueroa caught a 24-yard touchdown pass from Navara and Cole Pfister added a 14-yard touchdown run in the third quarter as the Clippers built an insurmountable 33-7 lead.
Clear Creek Amana picked off six passes and forced seven Trojan turnovers while holding Fairfield to 219 total yards.
Navara and Sam Noska led a Clipper defense that held Fairfield to 34 rushing yards on 26 carries.
Noska had a team-high 6.5 tackles, including three for loss and a sack and also recovered a fumble.
Navara picked off two passes and had four solo stops among his 5.5 tackles.
Kaden Gisleson also picked off two passes while Freeman and Reade each had one interception.
Bollers had a sack while Nate Beckman had 3.5 tackles including two for loss.
Navara completed 9-of-12 passes for 132 yards and two scores while Ben Swails was 4-of-7 passing for 59 yards.
Figueroa rushed for 87 yards, Pfister added 41 and Harrison Cory 39 for the Clippers.
Reade had three receptions for 97 yards and Bollers caught two passes for 91 yards.
