West High had three runners place in the top 20 on its way to a third-place finish at the 22-team Cedar Rapids Prairie Invitational on Saturday in Cedar Rapids.

Alex McKane, Ken Wilbur and Nicolo Schianchi all finished in the top 16 as West High finished behind host Cedar Rapids Prairie and Cedar Falls with 140 points.

Cedar Rapids Prairie won the team title with 58 points while Cedar Falls was second with 69. Clear Creek Amana placed eighth with 190 points and Solon was 16th with 466.

McKane placed 10th in a time of 17:11.3 to lead West High while Wilbur was 12th in 17:17.9 and Schianchi was 16th in 17:25.5.

Clear Creek Amana junior Brandon Barker led the way for the Clippers, finishing seventh in a time of 17:03.3.

The Clippers were the top non-4A school in the team standings, finishing 22 points in front of ninth place Marion.

Sophomore Gavin Zillyette was 25th in 17:46.7 and Caleb Alcorn was 26th in a time of 17:47.2.

Gabe Hinman placed 17th in a time of 17:47.6 to lead Solon.
