Volleyball Roundup: City High Wins at No. 14 Johnston

City High improved to 2-0 with its second road win of the week on Thursday downing Class 5A No. 14 Johnston (1-1) in a five-set thriller.

No. 12 City High rallied for a 14-25, 25-18, 23-25, 25-23, 15-3 win over the Dragons in a non-conference contest at Johnston.

Mia Loughran led City High with 14 kills while Makayla Ribble had 11 kills and 14 assists for the Little Hawks.

CeCe Aldrich-Ingram had 11 kills and Lindsey Bolton had 29 assists and seven ace serves in the win.

Maya Morales led City High with 32 digs.

Clippers Go 1-1 at Solon Triangular

Clear Creek Amana opened the season going 1-1 at the Solon triangular on Thursday defeating Solon and falling to Class 3A top-ranked Mount Vernon.

Class 4A eighth-ranked Clear Creek Amana fell to Mount Vernon 25-10, 25-19 and defeated Solon 18-25, 25-23, 15-11.

Calia Clubb led the Clippers with eight kills in the loss to Mount Vernon while Hailey Pollock had five kills and Cheyaenne Bunch had 11 assists.

In the win over Solon Clubb had 12 kills and Pollock added 11 while Bunch had 24 assists.
