One of the top shooters in the state has found his future home.

Regina point guard Masen Miller made his college decision on Tuesday when he announced his verbal commitment to Truman State via Twitter.

“Special thanks to my coaches, friends, teammates and family for all the help getting me where I am today,” Miller wrote on Twitter. I am excited to announce my commitment to further my academic and athletic career at Truman State University.”

Miller cemented his status as one of the top shooters in the state with a breakthrough junior season in which he averaged a career-high 20.4 points per game while making a state-best 99 3-pointers.

A career 43 percent 3-point shooter with more than 200 made 3-pointers in his career, Miller shot 43 percent from 3-point range last season.

The 99 made triples for Miller last season was the fourth highest total for any player state wide in the past 13 seasons.

Miller did more than just score for Regina as a junior leading the Regals with 4.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.9 steals while posting a 2.2-1 assist to turnover ratio.

The 6-foot-1 point guard was a first-team Class 2A all-state selection last season by the Iowa Prints Sports Writers Association after helping Regina to a 20-3 record and spot in the 2A state tournament.

Truman State is a NCAA Division II program that is a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

The Bulldogs went 14-15 last season in the first year under head coach Jeff Horner, an Iowa native and former University of Iowa player.  

“I am looking forward to joining a great group of coaches and teammates to do everything I can to help deliver big success together n and off the court,” Miller said in his Twitter post.
