Cam Miller tossed a two-hit shutout as Solon opened postseason with a 13-0 win over Pella in five innings on Friday in the Class 3A, District 12 semifinal in Oskaloosa.
Miller struck out eight and walked one in the five-inning complete game as Solon snapped a three-game losing skid and improved to 21-17 on the season.
Pella closed the season 11-23.
Seven different Spartans had hits as Solon scored runs in all four at-bats.
Nolan Pattison went 2-for-3, scored twice and drove in two runs and Jax Flynn went 2-for-3 with a double and scored three runs.
Adam Bock hit a three-run home run in an eight-run Solon fourth inning.
Solon will face top-seeded Oskaloosa (22-10) in the District 12 title game on Monday at 7 p.m.

Big Inning Costs Clipper in Loss to Mount Pleasant
Mount Pleasant used an eight-run fifth inning to overcome a 2-0 deficit in an 8-3 win over Clear Creek Amana on Friday in a Class 3A, District 10 semifinal in Fairfield.
The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Clear Creek Amana which closed the season 17-20 while Mount Pleasant (21-10) advanced to take on eighth-ranked Fairfield (25-4) in the District 10 title game on Monday at 7 p.m.
Casey Ogden went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored and Grant Jensen, Ben Swails and Brock Reade each had two hits as the Clippers out-hit Mount Pleasant 12-7.
Swails and Reade each drove in a run while Swails scored a run and TJ Bollers had a hit and scored a run.
Camden Smyka took the loss allowing seven runs on five hits while striking out seven in 4 1/3 innings.
