Baseball Roundup: City High Takes Down Solon on Senior Night

Kyle Clark tossed five strong innings as City High defeated Solon 7-2 on Monday in a non-conference matchup at Mercer Park in Iowa City.
Clark allowed two runs on seven hits and struck out two in five innings as City High improved to 23-15 on the season.
Solon dropped to 20-16 with the loss.
Cade Hanrahan had three hits and drove in four runs for City High while Zach Kuepker went 2-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and scored two runs.
Garrett Bormann had a hit and scored tice and Ben Steve drove in a pair of runs for City High.
Ryan Geistkemper took the loss for Solon allowing three runs on four hits in four innings.
Cam Miller, Brett Arduser, Jackson Pipolo, Geistkemper, Brady Jeworrek Nico Longo and Jax Flynn all had hits for the Spartans.
Jeworrek scored a run and Chris McSweeney had an RBI for the Spartans.

Clear Creek Amana Edges Grinnell
Clear Creek Amana closed the regular season with a 2-1 win over Grinnell on Monday in a non-conference matchup in Grinnell.
The win was the third consecutive one-run victory for Clear Creek Amana which improved to 17-19 on the season.
Grinnell dropped to 22-10 with the loss.
Freshman Sam Young picked up the win allowing just one unearned run on two hits in five innings, striking out two without issuing a walk.
Brock Reade struck out three in two hitless innings of relief to earn the save.
TJ Bollers, Camden Smyka and Casey Ogden all had two hits for Clear Creek Amana while Ogden drove in a run and Bollers scored a run.
Tyler Schrepfer had a hit and drove in a run while Ben Swails scored a run for the Clippers.

Liberty Knocks Off Davenport Central
Liberty High defeated Davenport Central 8-7 on Monday in the completion of a suspended game at Brady Street Field in Davenport.
The Lightning improved to 22-17 with the non-conference win while Davenport Central dropped to 12-16.
Isaiah Pihl up the win for Liberty High allowing three runs on five hits in three innings and Sam Funke worked a scoreless inning to earn the save.
TJ Kimm, Jacob Norris and Hayden Vickroy all had two hits for Liberty High and Kimm drove in two runs in the win.
Alec Boldt and Funke each had hits and drove in runs while Cody Schroeder and Ethan O’Donnell each added an RBI.
Vickroy scored a run and drove in a run for the Lightning.
