Liberty High went 1-1 on Saturday at the Oskaloosa Tournament defeating Creston and falling to Class 1A top-ranked Collins-Maxwell.

The Lightning defeated Creston 10-2 in its opener on Saturday and dropped it seconds game 2-0 to Collins-Maxwell to move to 10-10 on the season.

Kara Maiers picked up the win against Creston allowing one unearned run on two hits while striking out eight in three innings.

Blythe Geiman allowed one run on two hits and struck out three in three innings of relief.

Miranda Jones went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and three RBI to lead a 10-hit Liberty High attack.

Raquel Trolliet doubled, scored two runs and drove in three while Ella McLaughlin and Addie Schmierer each had two hits and scored twice.

Courtney Olson had two hits including a double and drove in two RBI.

Collins-Maxwell pitcher Mikayla Houge tossed a five-inning no-hitter striking out four as Liberty High dropped its second game 2-0.

Kinsley Robertson took the loss, allowing two runs on four hits in four innings.

City High Drops Two at Jack North

After picking up two wins at the Jack North tournament in Des Moines on Friday City High dropped a pair of games on Saturday.

Class 5A fifth-ranked Liberty High fell to Bettendorf 16-4 and dropped a 14-3 decision to top-ranked Waukee to fall to 15-4 on the season.

In the loss to Bettendorf Ayana Lindsey led the way going 3-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored.

Keli Potter went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Alexa Fredericks had a hit and drove in a run.

In the loss to Waukee Lindsey went 1-for-3 with a home run and two runs and two RBI and Sydney Fellows had two hits and drove in a run.

Carey Koenig doubled and Ella Cook ad Brooke Bormann each added a hit.
