Liberty High, City High and Clear Creek Amana all had players selected to the all-state soccer teams released by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association this week.

City High seniors Sam Schroder and Naomi Meurice earned all-state honors in Class 3A while Clear Creek Amana sophomore Lauren Riggle and Liberty High senior Lily Anderson were each named to the 2A all-state squads.

Schroder and were both named to the Class 3A second-team for City High.

Schroder led City High with 13 goals and six assists while Meurice posted five shutouts in goal and made 52 saves while allowing 11 goals in 13 matches.

The duo helped lead City High to a 9-6 record.

Anderson was a first-team all-state pick in Class 2A as the top defender for Liberty High.

She was one of 15 players named to the 2A first team after posting two assists and helping the Lightning to a 7-11 record in their first season in the Mississippi Valley Conference.

Riggle was named to the Class 2A second team after a sophomore season in which she led the Clippers with 19 goals and added 14 assists.

The 19 goals and 14 assists were both career-highs for Riggle who helped Clear Creek Amana to a 13-5 record.
