Boys State Soccer Tournament Postponed
Your Prep Sports
Thanks to Mother Nature the boys state soccer tournament will have a slightly different look this season.
Heavy rain caused concerns with field conditions at Cownie Soccer Park in Des Moines and have forced the start of the 2019 state boys soccer tournament to be postponed by one day.
The three-day state tournament was originally set to begin on Thursday and conclude with state championship matches on Saturday.
Quarterfinal matches have been moved to Friday in all three classes with semifinal set for Saturday and the title matches moved to Tuesday, June 4.
Iowa High School Athletic Association policy prohibits postseason play on Sundays and the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union had previously scheduled Monday as the date for regional soccer finals.
The field assignments and times for all games will remain the same in the revised schedule.
