Boys Golf Roundup: West Branch Rolls to Team Title at Sectional Meet

West Branch is one step closer to returning to the state golf meet for the second consecutive season.
Four West Branch golfers finished in the top six as the Bears rolled to the team title at the Class 2A Sectional Meet at the Tipton Golf and Country Club on Friday in Tipton.
Ted Bridges fired a 73 to win the individual title while Dylan Countryman was runner-up with a 75 and Brady Knoop was third with a 78.
West Branch finished with a 306 to outdistance host Tipton by 35 strokes while Durant and Regina each shot a 351.
Kaleb Sexton added an 80 for West Branch to finish in sixth place.
Mark Schomer paced Regina with a 78, good for fourth place while Nic Hein shot an 80 as both advanced on to district play.
With the first-place finish West Branch advances to the Class 2A district meet on May 17 at 10 a.m. at Heritage Oaks Golf and Country Club in Wapello.
