Sam Schroder scored a pair of goals for the second day in a row and Sarah Cassady added two goals as City High rolled to a 6-1 win over Cedar Rapids Jefferson in a Mississippi Valley Conference contest on Tuesday in Cedar Rapids.

The win was third straight for City High which improved to 3-2 on the season and 2-0 in MVC play while Cedar Rapids Jefferson dropped to 0-3 on the season.

Emma Seydel and Karissa Dilanni each added goals for City High.

Clippers Come Up Short Against Center Point-Urbana

Class 2A No. 13 Clear Creek Amana took an early 1-0 lead but couldn’t hang on falling to 1A third-ranked Center Point-Urbana 2-1 in a WAMAC Conference contest in Center Point on Tuesday.

The loss snapped a four-match winning streak for Clear Creek Amana and dropped the Clippers to 4-1 on the season while Center Point-Urbana improved to 4-1.  

Lauren Riggle gave Clear Creek Amana an early lead with a goal off an Ellen Austin assist.

Center Point-Urbana evened the score before halftime and got the go-ahead goal in the 68th minute on an own goal.

Clear Creek Amana returns to action on Thursday when it travels to Maquoketa.
