Boys Track Roundup: City High Finishes Runner-up at Draxton-Stiers/Wilkinson Invitational

City High won four events and had runner-up finishes in 10 others on its way to a second-place team finish at the Draxton-Stiers/Wilkinson Invitational on Saturday at Kingston Stadium in Cedar Rapids.
Dahron Fouch, Ry Threlkeld-Wiegand and Oisin Leopold won individual titles and City High won the 4×200 relay while finished with 171 points.
Host Cedar Rapids Kennedy won the team title with 206 points while Cedar Rapids Xavier was third with 103.
Fouch won the 200 in 23.69, Threlkeld-Wiegand won the 1,600 in 4:35.15 and Leopold added a title in the 110 hurdles in 15.22.
Kaleba Jack, Daniel Brown, Max DePrenger and Jovan Harris won the 4×200 title in a time of 1:30.95.
City High got runner-up finishes from Fouch in the 100, Max DePrenger in the 800 and Leopold in the 400 hurdles.
The Little Hawks had runner-up finishes in three field events as Levi Sherod was second in the discus, Fouch was second on the long jump and Tevon Williamson was runner-up in the high jump.
City High added second-place finishes in the 4×100, 4×800, shuttle hurdle and distance medley relays.

Stein Leads Regina at Clark Weaver Relays
Regina senior Luke Stein won the shot put and finished second in the distance on Saturday at the 13-team Clark Weavery Relays at Linn-Mar.
Stein won the shot put with a mark of 50-8 and was runner-up in the discus with a toss of 147-4 as Regina placed 10th with 18.5 points.
Bettendorf won the team title with 143 points followed by host Linn-Mar with 129, Cedar Rapids Prairie with 73.5 and Cedar Rapids Washington with 41.
Liberty High got an individual title from Bo Gryp in the 800 and placed sixth with 39 points.
Gryp won the 800 in 2:03.15 and the Lighting placed second in the 4×200 and third in the 4×400 relays.
